Meet The Magical Mystery Girls!

Linda Cote

LINDA COTE - Bass / Guitar / Vocals

Manager/founder of the band and a Beatles super-fan, Linda is a left-handed bass player who began playing at the age of 12 because she wanted to mimic Paul McCartney. Linda is also a multi-instrumentalist and accomplished lead vocalist and songwriter. She has recorded several CDs and has performed at the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH. She is a member of the rock duo One Third Wish and plays bass professionally for several Washington, DC area musical theater productions.

Kimberly Spath

KIMBERLY SPATH - Lead Guitar / Vocals

Like George Harrison, whom she represents in the Magical Mystery Girls, Kim is a tireless student of guitar who is completely dedicated to learning everything she can about sounds, techniques, and musical styles. In addition to guitar, Kim also plays banjo, mandolin, and ukulele. She is a full-time professional guitarist and orchestra pit musician who has performed at venues such as Ford's Theatre and the Kennedy Center. Kim has also played in many local bands and is currently a member of the rock duo One Third Wish.

Esmirelda

ESMIRELDA - Rhythm Guitar / Percussion / Vocals / Odd Noises

Esmirelda is also a Beatles super-fan with an encyclopedic knowledge of Beatles trivia. She plays vintage style guitars like those used by John Lennon and keeps audiences engaged through her handling of many musical and non-musical props throughout the show. Well-known on the DC music scene for many years as a provocative singer-songwriter, she has won two Billboard Songwriter Awards and continues to perform solo acoustic shows throughout the region. She is also a member of the DC-area based retro 60's girl group, The Fabulettes.

Erika Johnson

ERIKA JOHNSON - Drums / Percussion / Vocals

Erika Johnson is a classically trained drummer and percussionist who holds performance degrees from Indiana University-Bloomington and from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She has worked as a drummer at several DC-area theaters, including Wooly Mammoth Theater and Signature Theater. A frequent performer of new music, Erika is also the percussionist for DC’s Great Noise Ensemble. A singer herself, Erika arranges for the rare combination of voice and percussion. Her arrangement of Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time was premiered by New York City-based professional chorus, Choral Chameleon.

Charlene McDaniel

CHARLENE MCDANIEL - Keyboards / Woodwinds / Percussion / Violin / Vocals

A classically trained musician who studied at Peabody Conservatory, Charlene is the band's George Martin. In addition to all the keyboard parts, she plays saxophone, clarinet, flute, and violin....and frequently also provides background vocals. Charlene's main instrument is the clarinet and she has played with the Prince George's Philharmonic and the Loudon Symphony, and also plays woodwinds in several musical theatre pit orchestras. She is a full-time music educator in Howard County, MD.

Katie Kellert

KATIE RAVENWOOD - Keyboards / Woodwinds / Percussion / Vocals

Katie joined the band in late 2017 to supplement Charlene on clarinet, flute and saxophone, and her role in the band has since expanded to also include many keyboard parts, vocals, and percussion. A tech-savvy gear-head, Katie has created many of the keyboard patches used by the band. She is also a classically trained musician and has performed as a soloist with the Maryland Chamber Orchestra. She is a founding member of Great Noise Ensemble, runs her own music studio, and performs as an orchestra pit musician throughout the Washington, DC area.
